Four Rules For a Perfect Manicure

Are you using a salon for your nails because you never seem to do it as well as they do?
Anyone can have a perfect manicure without recurring to the service of a salon. When starting out it is sometimes awkward to apply nail polish but following a few simple tips will prevent damage to the nail and ensure perfect nails every time. Remember practice makes perfect.

First Step : Protect Nails

As is the case for all forms of make up (one can consider the application of nail polish, make up for nails), it is important to protect nails before applying the cosmetics. You can do that by applying a base coat.

If you have soft nails you might consider to strengthen your nails with a specialty product or better yet with our Argan oil and lemon treatment.

Are your nails prone to ridges, it is recommended that you should take care of them first by buffing the ridges away.

Step two : Choose your nail polish

Women who prefer the natural look will choose a clear varnish. The advantage of such product is that it is oftentimes a protective element. I should note here that it is quite possible to have discreet and natural looking nails with pastel colors as well. It is clearly a question of personal preference.

There are also, for a bolder look, colored polish. Some of you will appreciate the bright reds, while others will lean towards very dark colors, even black.

It is impossible to speak of nail polish without mentioning French manicure. It is a technic that puts the focus on the natural aspect of nails while underlining   and emphasizing the white of the nail’s extremity. Kits, usually comprising a white polish, a transparent polish and a top coat, are available to help you accomplish a perfect French manicure.

The third step : Application of Polish

It is preferable, usually, to apply polish in two separate steps. The first one consists of applying a very thin first layer. This application will allow for a longer lasting manicure.

You should start in the middle of the nail, near the cuticle and pulling to the tip of the nail.

Wait until the first layer is thoroughly dried before proceeding to the second one, which will be thicker.

In order to obtain a shiny polish that holds as long as possible, it is necessary to apply a top coat. That is accomplished in the exact same way as the varnish.

Wait until the top coat is completely dry before making corrections and adjustments.

The Last Step

Consists in the use of a nail polish pen. It is advisable to choose one that is not too harsh for your nail or the skin surrounding it.
